Depending on the version of Sketch you’re using, there are certain system requirements to keep in mind when installing the Mac app. You can check the required macOS versions on our release page and download the version that works best with your system.
Although there are no specific requirements for RAM amount or processor speed, as a general rule, the more complex the documents you handle, the more you’ll benefit from more memory, CPU, and GPU power.
Remember that Sketch uses several Mac-specific hardware technologies, making it impossible to run Sketch on a virtual machine (VM).
Some features require specific Sketch versions or plan types. Here’s what you’ll need to use each one:
- To sign in as an Editor, you’ll need to use version 65 or later.
- To use real-time collaboration, you’ll need version 71 or later, and you’ll need a subscription.
- Single-Sign-On (SSO) is only available for Business plans and requires macOS 10.15 and Sketch 70.2 or later.
